Over 100 years ago, my great-grandfather vacationed often in Cape Cod with his family.
He fell in love with the coastal town and, in 1938, he retired from the Bank of Boston with the goal of returning to his beloved Chatham. Once there, he built a house that was later handed down to my grandmother, who enjoyed it for over 40 years.
When I would visit her, a brightly lit Shop Ahoy sign welcomed me as a beacon in the night, signaling that I was about to embark on another amazing summer in Chatham. Now each day, I look out my office window at that same sign and am flooded with amazing childhood memories.
