I have worked with a wide range of clients. Some of whom have never worked with a designer, others who have worked with several designers. In either case, there always seems to be an element of apprehension and confusion. Here is a simple explanation of our business model so you have an understanding of our services. This can be best described in two stages.

STAGE ONE: PROGRAMMING, CONCEPTION AND PRESENTANTION
Design Fee: Hourly Rate
Minimum: One Hour
Maximum: Proposal Presentation

An initial meeting takes place in my design studio.  This meeting provides us the opportunity to meet, discuss your project and desired budget.  The full scope of our services are explained and offer additional portfolios material is provided upon request.

Next, you are presented with a Letter of Agreement.  The sole purpose of this letter is to clarify all expectations we may have of each other.  Once the agreement has been signed, programming you project begins.  Programming is best described as photographing, measuring, researching, selecting, pricing and lastly building the actual design concept.  Once the design concept is complete, we hold a design presentation meeting and offer to you a well organized design notebook, outlining the visual concept and financial pricing.

This is the first benefit of working with a designer.  They listen to your needs and wants, consider the budget for the project and offer you a cohesive design plan.  The beauty is that you are introduced to unique products that you may have never found on your own to individualize your space.  In addition, time is a valuable commodity and a design project can be extremely time consuming.  Hiring a professional designer allows you the freedom to focus on other things in your life while you project comes together.

STAGE TWO: PROCUREMENT AND INSTALLATION
Design Fee:  None
Procurement Fee:  Reduced Fee From Retail

Once the design proposal is agreed upon and signed, I collect a seventy-five percent (75%) deposit on all product and labor agreed upon. From this point forward, it is our job to order all products, track, receive, inspect and coordinate the final installation. We oversee the scheduling and implementation of any contractor hired regarding our design outline. At the time of installation, the remaining twenty-five percent (25%) is collected in addition to any remaining fees.

This is the second benefit of working with a designer. Other than approving choices along the way, the stress and time of ordering, inspecting and installing is left to design time. In the end, a trusted designer should present to you the accomplished vision of your space.
